SAFIC has a valuable academic partnership with Sri Chandrashekharendra Saraswati Vishwa Mahavidhyalaya(SCSVMV), Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.

The partnership includes collaborating on several academic and research activities related to the study of Sanskrit and Indian Culture, as well as student exchange programmes.

Our most recent collaboration with SCSVMV included co-organising a National Seminar on Prenatal Education: Ancient Indian Perspectives (April 2019).

This seminar brought together on one forum a rich diversity of insights, perspectives and approaches from Indian wisdom and medical traditions that highlight a deeper and spiritual understanding of the major aspects of human birthing (reproduction), starting from conception and development of a child, role of maternity and parenting.

Another key area in which this partnership was highly instrumental in the recent past included being a co-organiser and host of the National Seminar 2018 of Samskrita Balasahitya Parishad.

The National Seminar (April 4-6, 2018), organised with an objective to generate ideas on bringing Sanskrit to children in various innovative ways through literature, was held at the campus of SCSVMV, Kanchipuram.

A welcome address by Dr. Debajyoti Jena, Head of the Department of Sanskrit, SCSVMV, and a Presidential address by Prof. Vishnu Potty V.S., Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SCSVMV opened the seminar. Several members of the faculty of Department of Sanskrit and Indian Culture of SCSVMV also participated in the seminar. The National Seminar 2018 was a big success, partly because of the encouragement and support provided by SCSVMV.

Full report of the seminar as submitted by SCSVMV can be read HERE.
