Overview of SAFIC Activites

 

On 4th, 5th and 6th December 2020 Gaveshana – Live Synergy Dr. Sampadananda Mishra, Director SAFIC and Deepa Vaitheeswaran, a volunteer at SAFIC presented the activities at SAFIC for the members of Gaveshana – A Live Synergy Initiative in Goa. Dr. Mishra presented the research and promotion of Sanskrit at SAFIC. He elaborated about the work concerning Divyavani Sanskrit Radio, Samskrita Balasahitya Parishad and Sanskrit and Speech Pathology. On 5th of December Deepa Vaitheesawran presented the research activities on Prenatal Education at SAFIC.

 

Integral Vision of Sri Aurobindo

 

On 5th December Dr. Sampadananda Mishra was invited by ICPR Lucknow to deliver the keynote speech on the Integral Vision of Sri Aurobindo. This talk was organised to pay tribute to Sri Aurobindo on his mahasamadhi day. The program was presided by Prof. RC Sinha, Chairperson ICPR. Other dignitaries present were: Prof. Umesh Chandra Dubey, Vibhas Upadhyaya, and Prof. Kumar Ratnam. Dr. Pooja Vyas, Director ICPR Academic center, Lucknow organised the program.

 

 

Assam Central University Program

On 5th December Assam Central University had organised an online event to inaugurate the beginning of a 150 hours course on Sri Aurobindo’s Foundations of Indian Culture. Dr. Sampadananda Mishra was invited as a guest of honor to speak at this inaugural session to give an overview of Indian Culture in the light of Sri Aurobindo. Other dignitaries invited for enlightening the participants were: Swami Atmapriyananda ji, VC, Swami Vivekananda University, Belur, Ms. Nivedita Bhide ji, Vice President, Swami Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, and Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, honorable education minister, Assam.

 

Effective Sanskrit Teaching at Primary Schools

On 12 December 2020 Dr. Mishra was invited as a resource person to speak about how to make Sanskrit teaching effective at the primary classes. The program was organised by the Regional Education and Training Center, Chandigarh in which around eighty Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers participated.

Why Sanskrit?


On 13th December Dr. Mishra was invited by the AuroYouth unit of Sri Aurobindo Society to speak and inspire the youths on Why Sanskrit. The session was attended by hundreds of Sanskrit lovers and enthusiasts.

 

The Wonder that is Sanskrit

 

On 20 December 2020 The City Book Leaders, News Delhi invited Dr. Sampadananda Mishra to have a conversation on the book The Wonder that is Sanskrit. Ms Smitha, an advocate and children’s story teller was in conversation with Dr. Mishra in which various facets of Sanskrit were discussed.

 

 

 

Sanskrit Education in Schools

On 27 December 2020 Dr. Mishra was invited Naya bharat Initiative of IIT Delhi as a keynote speaker to speak on Sanskrit Education in Schools. The meeting was graced by Prof. Virendra K Vijay, National Coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Ministry of Education. Dr. Mishra shared his experience of designing the unique curriculum of Devabhasha from LKG to Class 8, and shared how teachers can be empowered to teach Sanskrit effectively and innovatively to the children of various age groups. Prof. Anil Guarishetty from IIT Roorkee shared the activities of the Sanskrit Club at IIT Roorkee.
